COVID-19 IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We are delighted that we can officially open our campsite on the 12th April.  We will be operating with our strict Covid Secure protocols as implemented by our team last year successfully but we look forward to welcoming you to the Cotswolds very soon.

We urge all of our guests to consider these additional guidelines for a safe and pleasant stay at Far Peak:

Arrival:

- Please maintain a 2m gap when queuing. You will be allocated a pitch by our campsite team.

- Payment by card or cash please.

- Only one group member at a time in reception. If you are arriving with a group (multiple pitches), please allocate the group organiser to come to reception ONLY.

Pitching and Amenities:

- You will be allocated a specific Toilet, Shower, Basin and Washing Up sink for your stay. These will be numbered in advance. Please ONLY USE YOUR ALLOCATED NUMBER for the duration of your stay. Extra disinfectant will be present in each cubical - you MUST clean all surfaces after each use.

- Only 1 group at a time in the sink areas.

Please note: The amenities will still be shared evenly amongst campers.

- Please leave minimum of 2m gap between each pitch. Your vehicle should be parked as close to your pitch as possible

- Please maintain social distancing measures around communal firepits/BBQs, gazeebos and awnings.

PLEASE NOTE: The Woodland areas are out of bounds to guests unless you are pre booked into a session with the climbing centre.  This is part of our COVID SECURE ZONE.  Guests of the Glamping Domes and Shepherd Huts are unaffected by this restriction but those who have booked the Glade or Tipi Tents will be moved onto the main camping fields.

Your local footprint:

- Please try to bring everything you need to camp with you. There is a selection of SMALL local shops in Northleach, but please try to avoid over stretching their capacity by bringing your own food, drink and supplies.

- Northleach is a beautiful 1.5 mile walk across the fields. Try to walk or cycle there as there is very limited parking.

- Please try to take as much rubbish away with you as possible and keep the Cotswolds clean!

- Drive carefully - the local roads are narrow, quiet and full of cyclists and walkers

- Respect our villages - we live here too and need to shop, buy medicine and go to the doctors.

ON SITE FACILITIES:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rules and restrictions around indoor and outdoor activities have vastly changed the way our on site activities can run. To keep our customers and staff as safe as possible and enforce the correct social distancing measures, we have created a COVID SECURE ZONE, with very strict entry restrictions in place for users.

We respectfully ask our camping guests to adhere to these guidelines - please do not enter the COVID SECURE ZONE without permission of the campsite, climbing centre or site management teams.

COVID FAQ's

  • Do I have my own Toilet and Shower facilities to myself?

No.  But we are assigning each pitch a specific toilet and shower you can use whilst you stay.  This will minimize the number of people using each one and with additional cleaning protocols, and cleaning sprays in each cubicle, you can clean as you go too.

  • How many tents per pitch?

Only 1! This has not changed.  If you book a single pitch but put up multiple tents, you will be charged.  It is also not fair on other campers as our capacity during these difficult times has to be carefully controlled.  You may be asked to leave.

  • Can we use the Low Ropes Course and Woodlands during our stay?

All of the activities on site are on a PRE BOOKED BASIS ONLY.  For Far Peak Climbing to operate at all, they have to have a strict entry policy for all users, so please do not try and sneak in after hours as they may get shut down!  You can check out their offer on their own website www.farpeakclimbing.co.uk

  • Is the cafe open?

Yes - Hooray!  The Hayloft Cafe is open for takeaway everyday but it will only be serving a light (but freshly prepared) menu, coffee, cakes and ice cream.  Again, please refer to their social media feed or website for the latest opening times and offers.  There will also be a food van serving evening food on Friday and Saturday Nights!

  • Is the bar open?

Yes - we have installed an temporary pop up bar in the Old Smokery which will be opening Friday and Saturday 5pm.  We have a supurb local beer Elements Brewery on tap and a selection of bottles, wines and mixers.

  • Can we hire bikes?

Yes BUT...... you must book your bikes in advance so Cotswold Bike Hire and Tours can prepare the bike ready for your hire period.  This must be done 48hrs in advance but can be done online also.

  • Will it be busy?

Yes.  We are operating at a slightly reduced capacity to our normal levels to ensure everyone has space, but we can only do so much.  Please make sure you maintain social distancing whilst camping, keep your dogs on a leash away from other groups and keep up the good work with washing your hands and CLEANING AS YOU GO too.
