FAQs

  • What time is check in?

2pm throughout the season.  Please call in at reception and see us before pitching as we don't want you to have to re-pitch if you are in the wrong area!

  • And check out?

By 12pm please, so we can get your Hut or Electric Hook Up ready for our next guests.  We can be flexible, so please ask at check in if you wish to stay later.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Glamping Domes, Huts and Tipis are a little earlier - 11am to give us enough time to service them.

  • What time is Curfew?

By 22:30 we hope everyone has enjoyed their evening and can start to turn in for the night.  This means a strict noise restriction by this time please, including ferrel children (and grown ups!)

     PLEASE RESPECT YOUR FELLOW CAMPERS.

The Old Smokery Bar and Event Space is set away from the main campsite area with plenty of seating, so if you really haven't finished your evening by 22:30, you can still chat away from the camping areas.

We do understand that we are a group and family friendly site, but there is a line, so please respect our wardens if they do need to have a word.  Full T&Cs can be found HERE

  • Can I mix electric hook ups with non-electric pitches?

Usually that is possible but please ring to check availability as space is limited.  More information can be found on our Groups and Schools page

  • Can I stay for just one night?

You can, but only by prior arrangement with the management.  We ask all our guests to stay for a minimum of 2 nights and 3 nights over the bank holiday weekends, to avoid disappointing others who want to stay for longer at these times.

  • Can we have a fire?

    Yes...

We allow anything that does not scorch the grass or has the potential to start a fire storm so we welcome fire pits and BBQ's that DO NOT SCORCH THE GRASS.  We even hire them out strictly on a 'first come, first serve' basis as we have a limited supply.

  • Does my pitch include any activities?

    No...

Far Peak Climbing and Cycle Hire are a separate business and all activities and instructor led sessions can be booked separately and in advance of your stay.

However, there is a play area attached to the Hayloft Cafe suitable for age 3+ and open access to all guests and visitors.

From 2019, use of the Low Ropes Course is also now separate to the campsite.  Guests need to pop into the climbing centre reception to register (or you can do it online) and pick up a coloured wristband to gain access for the duration of your stay.  The Low Ropes Course are a part of the climbing centre, so open during their business hours.

  • How do I book for next season?

Simple, our ONLINE booking facility  (facilitated by Cool Camping/Bedful) allows you to book whenever you wish!  During the closed season, the wardens will be keeping an eye on all bookings. If you have any queries just CONTACT US and they'll be back to you within a few days. Please don't ring as they're not there to answer!

Our campsite wardens are on site from March to the end of October and look after all the enquiries, phone bookings and online bookings during the season.

  • How do I book more than 1 pitch?

Easy, just make 2 or 3 bookings separately and pop your group name in the box provided.  We do not specify exact pitches, allowing you to choose where your group decides to camp, but it can be tricky if you need a mixture of electric and non-electric pitches, due to limited space!

  • Is the campsite dog friendly?

Yes, we love dogs, but we respect that some people do not and also some children are uncomfortable around animals that jump up, lick, bark and generally try to make a fuss.  Therefore, we would ask that all dogs are kept under strict control around the campsite and camping areas.

We definately HATE dog mess - and although we know you cannot control when a dog has to go, you must always PICK IT UP!  Any reports of laziness or disregard of this will have consequences.  Besides - no one wants to tread in it and have to clear it off your shoes, let alone from between your toes.

  • What does a pitch include?

A pitch is 1 unit - i.e. a tent, motor home, caravan, camper van, bivvy bag or igloo (normally applicable around the August Bank Holiday)!.  Pitch price includes two adults (or 1 adult, 1 child). There are extra charges for additional children 3 -  17YO, awnings, gazebos, dogs, extra adults and cars. It is your responsibility to ensure that you can fit both your vehicle and unit on the pitch allocated to you. If you decide to bring extras, these must fit within the pitch or you may be charged for the additional space.  Don't worry - you can discuss with us where exactly you want to pitch and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • What if the weather is rubbish?

Sorry, that's just one of those things when you camp!  We have loads of activities on site and nearby that will keep you dry and warm, including the Climbing centre on site and activities such as Yoga, Pilates for adults, but unfortunately we will not refund your stay if you decide you or members of your party do not want to come.

Anyway, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad equipment, so come prepared!

Seriously though, if you want to read all our terms and conditions, before you book, please do.

  • When is the Campsite open?

We're open from Easter until the end of October.  During the colder months, we shut off all our water supplies and amenities to avoid frost damage to the pipes and mashing up the grass too much.
